Live dashboards and alerts from Google Sheets

Copy the KPI template (it already has a Date column), share it or publish the tab as CSV, and tlly charts each column. Google can take about 5 to 15 minutes to update a published copy after you edit a cell. Refresh re-reads it; it can't make Google publish sooner.

Start from the template

The template has a Date column and example metric columns (Revenue, Signups, Active users, Orders, Pipeline value), one row per day. tlly charts each column you name.

The live template, for reference: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ty5X3LkY2unxTNGbkq36qDzuuYxQMsuywaTNyzL_pac/edit. A second tab, “How to use”, repeats these steps.

Let tlly read it

  1. In your copy, choose Share and set general access to Anyone with the link, role Viewer. Copy the link.
  2. Or choose File → Share → Publish to web, pick the Metrics tab and Comma-separated values (.csv), and copy that link.
  3. Paste the link into the AI builder (the chat). There is no paste box on this card. A published CSV looks like https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/…/pub?output=csv. A sheet shared as “anyone with the link can view” can use https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/FILE_ID/export?format=csv&gid=TAB_GID (the template’s Metrics tab is gid 1746689811).

Anyone with the published or shared link can read that tab, so publish only numbers you would put on a dashboard. Google can take about 5 to 15 minutes to update a published copy after you edit a cell. Refresh re-reads it and cannot make Google publish sooner. A sheet of current totals with no date column is read as one snapshot dated the day tlly fetches it (the last row wins that day). That is not a sum of the rows. A history needs the Date column.
